Children learn best where they feel known. At a neighborhood school, trusted relationships with teachers, staff, and classmates build over years, and those relationships are part of what makes learning possible.

Walkable, close-to-home schools also knit a neighborhood together. Families meet each other at pickup, volunteer in the same classrooms, and look out for one another's kids.

Continuity matters most for the students who can least afford disruption. Before that continuity is broken, we believe the community deserves a complete plan.

We are collecting stories from families who want to share them. Stories are published only with the family's approval, and never include children's personal information.

What we need

Our goal is 6,100 signatures from Olathe residents. Signatures must be gathered after the board makes its decision in order to count.

  • Only Olathe residents count toward the 6,100 goal.
  • Make sure you are registered to vote.
  • Sign in person at a petition location once locations are announced.
  • Attend the next board meeting to show support.
